About Us

Dulwich Subscription Concerts is a series of concerts held in Dulwich between September and May each year. It was set up in 2004 by a group of friends who are musicians or have an enduring interest in music. Its aims are to provide a platform for young predominantly local musicians as they start their careers and also to provide local opportunities to hear some of the many better-known professional musicians who live on our doorstep or have other Dulwich connections.

The concerts are usually held in the Old Library, Dulwich College.

We try to catch young performers as they come to the end of their full time education and have had great success in spotting talent early. Notably Stile Antico, Grammy nominees and Diapason d’Or winners, the Solstice Quartet and the Rautio Trio, both past Tillett Trust Young Artists’ Platform winners, the Alea Quartet, Simon Hewitt Jones and Friends and Simon Lane have all given concerts for DSC. More established local musicians who have played or sung  for us include for example the Dante Quartet, Neil McLaren, Sarah Leonard, Sue Anderson, Jane Friend and David Campbell.

We aim to put on concerts of consistently high standard at a modest price. The cost of a subscription ticket is £60 for 5 concerts or £50 concessions. Single tickets cost £15 and £5 students.The ticket price also covers the cost of the programme – each one with an individually designed cover - and wine after the concert, with an opportunity to meet the performers. We even have champagne after the September concert and we don’t limit it to just one glass either.
